No doubt about it, teaching entrepreneurship to teenagers is a very difficult task. That is why Young Entrepreneurs of America was founded.YEA is the only organization in the country focused exclusively on helping teenagers learn entrepreneurial skills and actually start their own profitable companies.

This website should be your most valuable resource for curriculum, current events, classroom speakers, hands-on activities, individual mentors, professional advice, local events, teacher training, and entrepreneurial contests. If you're teaching entrepreneurism and we don't have what you're looking for, please help us and send us an e-mail to let us know what we're missing and how we can help. Our one and only goal is to educate and motivate the next generation of entrepreneurs.

Because every teacher has a different style of teaching and every State has a different curriculum, YEA does not follow other programs like Junior Achievement where teachers must adopt the entire program or use none of it. We encourage our teachers to use our resources in any way that best suits their needs, not ours. If you find additional information outside of YEA that has helped your program or if you are using our materials in an exciting way, we would love to hear from you and appreciate any content you may wish to submit to help others teach entrepreneurship as well.

YEA makes every effort to help you teach your students in a realistic, exciting, and hands-on way. We have customized many programs, curriculum and activities to meet specific needs and timeframes. If you have a unique request that is not found below, please let us know and we will do everything we can to help make your entrepreneur program a success. In the meantime, feel free to browse our website and use any of our tools as they best fit your program.

Reminder!

Make sure your class is participating in our annual Young Entrepreneur Summit. This is a great time for you and your students to meet local entrepreneurs and take advantage of our hands-on workshops.

We will also be providing cash awards for the Young Entrepreneur of the Year and Business Plan Competition. Help your students do more than just write their business plans. Encourage them to enter our Startup Summer program where we actually give them money and help them start their new ventures.

Young Entrepreneurs of America is proud to announce a brand new program for the summer of 2007. We are looking for 10 students with the ambition and capabilities to start their own businesses. YEA will provide them with a mentor and the money they need to start their own businesses this summer. Make sure your students don't miss this incredible opportunity. Nominate or register your students before April 30, 2007.

How can YEA help with my class?

YEA provides a wide range of curriculum ideas including student projects, worksheets and presentations. (Click here for curriculum)

The best way to leverage YEA is to involve a mentor or volunteer to visit your classroom. (Click here to request information on involving a Mentor / Volunteer)

One of the biggest challenges with any curriculum is keeping it current and relevant. YEA scours all its sources on a regular basis to provide relevant articles and ideas directly from today's entrepreneurial environment. (The Entrepreneurial Life)

How do I get the biggest benefit from YEA involvement?

Before any YEA volunteer visits your classroom you should review the relevant pre-class preparation for that section. You can even download classroom notes to give your students beforehand so they will already have relevant information and a basis on which they can take personal notes.(Click here for curriculum)

After the classroom visit, you should take advantage of our student worksheets to put their newly learned knowledge into practice. You can also make use of our post-visit quizzes, tests, and activities. (Click here for curriculum)

YEA provides teacher training sessions for instructors of entrepreneur classes each quarter. Contact us for details on the next training session or to schedule one for your own school district.

One of the best ways to get the most out of YEA's curriculum and programs is to provide us feedback on how we can better serve your needs and those of your students. We always love hearing how teachers are implementing our programs and we continually strive to provide you with the most impactful programs and materials possible. (Click here to leave feedback)
