maryanne's own bodycare essentials

MaryanneMaryanne’s Own Bodycare Essentials was established in May 2005.  This company is unique in that the owner is a sixteen year old, junior in high school student.  The company began with her interests in business and bodycare.  She inquired about the policy for sales at a local farmers market and discovered that she was required to have an adult work with her.  So, she asked her mom to be a partner in the business.

Maryanne then began researching recipes and raw materials and started making sugar scrubs for sale at the local farmers market. The company targeted the female consumers who were willing to pay for quality skincare.

After one week of sales at the Twin Falls Farmers Market, Maryanne’s Own Bodycare Essentials was invited to sell their products at the Hailey and Ketchum, Idaho Farmers Markets.  Within two weeks of starting the business it was evident by customer demand that the company needed to add more products to the bodycare line.  After additional research a body butter was added to the line of bodycare products.  Today the company carries over 12 products and recently launched a new line of chocolate bodycare products.

Product After accomplishing the initial goal of selling the products in a retail environment and gaining exposure to the market by having consumers gain confidence in the products and create a client base, the company started branching out to the wholesale market. Within four weeks of beginning the business, a retail store in Hailey, Idaho began carrying the products.  Currently, Maryanne’s Own Bodycare Essentials has three wholesale clients and has seen a steady increase in client base.

The Hailey/Sun Valley area is famous for tourism and as a result the company has sold to consumers from all over the United States. Maryanne’s Own now has a solid client base that telephones to re-order products and also makes their products available online at www.maryannesown.com
