I hear from many entrepreneurs that they have a hard time trying to come up with a business idea to get started. I guess I am one of the fortunate ones because my opportunity came two years ago when I was involved in a group going on a trip to visit a local college. 

The leaders asked if anyone had ideas for a shirt design to help our group stand out from the others.  I was involved in art and loved to draw so I created a design and my design was chosen to be printed on the shirts. 

While visiting the company who would be printing the shirts, the owner struck up a conversation.  He told a story about a friend of his who created shirts that said “Road Kill” on them, which had random dead animals printed beside the two words.  The story concluded with the shirts selling like crazy.  I thought about that and decided to start my own brand centered on my passion of riding dirt bikes. 

I worked for almost four months to buy my first shirts on November 22, 2005.  Since then, I have invested more than two thousand dollars building my company.  It has been the most difficult thing I have ever done because there were so many things that I did not know about and learned many lessons the hard way.  

I enjoy being an entrepreneur. It has given life to my passions for graphic design and dirt bikes and has provided me with an opportunity to earn a significant amount of money while I finish high school.
