Summer Startup Scholarships
If you’ve ever thought that you would be an awesome entrepreneur but never had the chance to actually get started, then this new program is for you. Young Entrepreneurs of America is looking for 10 students who are serious about starting their own business this summer. You provide the work (minimum 30 hours a week) and we will provide you with an idea (if necessary), free startup capital, a seasoned mentor, and a series of seminars designed specifically to help you build your own company and earn thousands of dollars this summer!
Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award
Each year YEA awards a Young Entrepreneur of the Year award to the students who best exhibit the entrepreneurial spirit by creating a business concept, develop a successful plan, and executing that plan in a successful manner. The business itself must be owned 100% by individuals under 19 years of age and the applicant him/herself must own at least 50% of the company. The intent of this award is to identify those students who have started and are currently running their own business in the most successful manner. While profitability is a factor, it is not the only consideration for this award.
Business Plan Competition
This is not a simple writing contest. There are no requirements placed on margins, font size, number of pages, etc. Instead, the student must find a way to clearly present his/her business case in a complete and compelling format. Special emphasis will be given to the appropriateness of the business concept as well as the student’s demonstrated ability to carry that business plan through to completion. These plans are meant to soar!
Eligibility: All applications must be high school age or younger and be permanent residents of the United States. Applications should be submitted electronically to YEA and must be received before April 30, 2007. All materials for the application must be the student’s own work and must include sa signed copy of the “Student Application”.
