December 7, 2007 - Young people who want to start a business may find it daunting, but one man's hope for high-school entrepreneurs is that they'll stop at nothing to succeed.

Becoming a teenage entrepreneur in Riverton Utah was definitely an eye opening experience for me. In some ways it was easier than I had imagined but in others it was far more difficult. Over the past few years I had thought about starting my own business. I liked the idea of being my own boss. My only problem now was figuring out what my business would be.
Last December, I went to a converence put on by Young Entrepreneurs of America. With over 650 other high school students I spent the whole day talking to 40-50 actual entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, business professionals and investors. SANDY — Students from Davis County and across the state discovered the realities of what it takes to succeed in business at a youth summit on Friday.
The summit, sponsored by The Young Entrepreneurs of America, focused on teaching high school students the value of operating a business on their own. The one-day program included speakers from around the Northwest who came to speak to the students. MORE

I have always wanted to start my own business. I thought that it would just somehow happen when I was an adult. Until recently, I didn't realize that i could get started during my high school years. In my mind, it just wasn't a possibility that I had imagined. Well, I signed up for a Summer Startup program with Young Entrepreneurs of America and got my chance.
