about yea
Young Entrepreneurs of America (YEA) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to educating and motivating the next generations of entrepreneurs.
YEA is the leading provider of information, networking, and assistance to the secondary education teachers and students who are frustrated and overwhelmed by the challenges of teaching entrepreneurial skills and concepts to today’s teenagers.
YEA provides information and resources that lead to more frequent, more enjoyable, and more effective opportunities for students to learn about entrepreneurship which will enable them to become successful, motivated entrepreneurs.
Brief History
Young Entrepreneurs of America began in Charlottesville, Virginia in 1996 when the organization's founder, Brian Acord, was a graduate student at the University of Virginia. (Go HOOS!) Because he had already started several businesses before graduate school, he was asked to visit a local high school along with a few other local entrepreneurs to talk about what it was like to start a new business. more history
YEA Programs
Our programs are designed to maximize interaction between successful entrepreneurs and students. The main objective is to provide students with first-hand information on real-world entrepreneurial experiences and give them a true taste of what entrepreneurship is about. We have many programs that are designed to help young entrepreneurs start their own businesses. For complete program information click here.
