young entrepreneur of the year award

For more than a decade, Young Entrepreneurs of America has worked with jr. high and high school students to help them gain a better understanding of entrepreneurism and give them support and provide an insider’s view into what it takes to actually start a new business. We are proud to announce that the winners of this year’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award have shown tremendous dedication and hard work in proving their ideas and building successful companies. While we work with countless of teenage entrepreneurs across the country, it is always very difficult selecting the final winners who are truly outstanding entrepreneurs. Due to the remarkable success and dedication of one very young entrepreneur, YEA will award a Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in a new category for the first time since the program began.

We are pleased to announce the winner of the Young Entrepreneur of the Year in the newly created Under 16 category goes to Jason O’Neill of Pencil Bugs. Jason started his business when he was 11 years old and is a good example of how important it is for these young entrepreneurs to get support from their friends, family, and community. Jason attends the Ysabel Barnett Elementary School in Temecula, California.

Jason says “It’s been several years since this all started. None of us ever imagined that my simple idea would turn into a real business but it’s never too early to be an entrepreneur. If you have an idea to make something, at least give it a try. You might be surprised at what you can do!”

You can learn more about Jason by reading his article or by visiting his website at www.pencilbugs.com.

The winner of our Young Entrepreneur of the Year competition is Zach Galant of TeraByte Video Game Creation Camp. Zach attends Greenhill High School and lives in Addison, Texas. He runs a successful summer camp where he teaches other teenagers how to create their own video games. You can learn more about Zach by visiting his website at www.terabytegames.com.

Congratulations to all who entered our competitions. You are truly remarkable entrepreneurs!
